Brian Moyer

Brian C. Moyer is Deputy Director of the Bureau of Economic Analysis. He oversees the administrative and communications functions of the Bureau and provides leadership for improving and expanding the Bureau’s core statistical programs. Prior to becoming Deputy Director, Dr. Moyer served in several key positions at BEA, including Associate Director for Industry Accounts. He is the author of numerous articles on measuring the economic performance of U.S. industries and is an active participant in national and international efforts to improve economic statistics.

Dr. Moyer received a number of awards for his management and leadership, including the Commerce Department’s Gold Medal Award for his contributions to international statistical standards and the Silver Medal Award for his work on integrating industry statistics. Dr. Moyer holds a Ph.D. in economics from American University.
