Changes in the Presentation of the U.S. International
Transactions Accounts
There are several changes in the presentation of the U.S. International
Transactions Accounts with the release of estimates on June 18, 2004.
The changes are summarized below, and information on specific line changes
can be found here.
- Table 2 – In section B, lines for "Western Europe"
and "Western Europe, excluding EU" have been replaced by lines
for "Europe" and "Europe, excluding EU." Information
on specific line changes can be found here.
- Table 3 – Four lines in the section "Supplemental detail
on insurance transactions" have been removed, and footnotes for
lines 49 and 53 have been added. Information on specific line changes
can be found here.
- Tables 7b, 8b, 9b, and 10b – All tables now end with data for
1998:IV.
- Table 9a – Changes have been made in the section "Claims
for own accounts – denominated in dollars" that begins on
line 3. Information on specific line changes can be found here.
- Table 10a – Changes have been made in the section "Liabilities
for own accounts – denominated in dollars" that begins on
line 5 and in the section "Liabilities for customers’ accounts
– denominated in foreign currencies" that begins on new line
24. Information on specific line changes can be found here.
- Table 11 –
- Table for "Europe" has been added with annual and quarterly
data from 1960-present.
- Table for "Mexico" has been added with annual data from
1986-present and quarterly data beginning in 2004:I.
- Tables for "Western Europe," "Eastern Europe,"
and "European Union (6)" will end with data for 2003:IV.
- Table 12 – Table for "Mexico" was transferred to table
11.
