GDP and the Economy: Advance Estimates for the Second Quarter of 2008
Real GDP increased 1.9 percent after increasing 0.9 percent in the first quarter. Prices of goods and services purchased by U.S. residents rose 4.2 percent after rising 3.5 percent, reflecting accelerating energy and food prices.
Annual Revision of the National Income and Product Accounts: Annual Estimates for 2005–2007 and Quarterly Estimates for the First Quarter of 2005 to the First Quarter of 2008
Annual revisions update the accounts by incorporating new data and various methodological improvements. From 2004 to 2007, real GDP growth was revised to 2.6 percent from 2.7 percent. This annual revision did not change the general picture of the economy over the past few years.
