GDP and the Economy: Second Estimates for the Second Quarter of 2009 (PDF • 182 KB)
Real GDP fell 1.0 percent after falling 6.4 percent in the first quarter. Business investment and exports fell less than in the first quarter. Consumer spending turned down. Corporate profits increased $67.6 billion after increasing $59.1 billion.

Net government saving decreased $300.1 billion to –$1,305.8 billion. Net federal government saving decreased $325.8 billion to –$1,294.9 billion. Net state and local government saving increased $25.7 billion to –$10.9 billion.
