GDP and the Economy: Second Estimates for the Second Quarter of 2011  (PDF)
Real GDP rose 1.0 percent after rising 0.4 percent in the first quarter. Imports slowed, federal government spending turned up, and business investment picked up. Consumer spending slowed.
Government Receipts and Expenditures: Second Quarter of 2011 (PDF)

Net government saving decreased $54.7 billion to –$1,313.0 billion. Net federal government saving decreased $63.3 billion to   –$1,264.4 billion. Net state and local government saving increased $8.6 billion to –$48.6 billion.

Personal income increased in all but 4 of the nation’s 366 metropolitan areas. In the metropolitan portion of the United States, it rose 2.9 percent after falling 1.9 percent in 2009.
