The 1947, 1958, and 1963 benchmark input-output (I-O) data files available on this page are based on the 1957 Standard Industry Classification (SIC) system; the 1967-1977 data files are based on the version of the SIC system current in each year; the 1977-1982 data files are based on the 1977 SIC system; the 1987-1992 are based on the 1987 SIC system; and the 1997 and 2002 data files are based on the 1997 and 2002 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), respectively. Because these tables reflect industry definitions that vary across years and because the tables do not reflect subsequent comprehensive revisions of the national income and product accounts (NIPAs), they should not be used as a time series.
The 2007 and subsequent benchmark input-output tables are fully integrated with the annual industry accounts and national income and product accounts, and data for these tables can be found on the Input-Output Accounts Data page.
