The activities of multinational enterprises statistics available here provide a picture of the overall activities of U.S. affiliates of foreign parents and contain a wide variety of indicators of their financial structure and operations. These statistics cover items that are needed in analyzing the characteristics, performance, and economic impact of MNEs, and are obtained from mandatory surveys of U.S. affiliates of foreign parents conducted by BEA.

Please note that the Nonbank U.S. Affiliates series ended with 2006. Beginning with 2007, it was replaced by a series that includes both bank and nonbank affiliates.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Bureau of Economic Analysis have developed research data on employment, wages, and occupations for foreign-owned establishments for 2012. Data are available at the national, state, metropolitan statistical area, and county levels and at the industry group level.

Detailed establishment data for U.S. affiliates of foreign parents obtained from a project that links Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) enterprise, or company, data on foreign direct investment in the United States with the Census Bureau's establishment data for all U.S. companies. The data are presented by detailed industry, by country of ultimate beneficial owner, and by State.
