Employment by Industry
To produce its employment by industry statistics, BEA adds additional source data to and makes adjustments to figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This produces national employment measures consistent with BEA's measures of compensation, aiding in analysis.
Data tables produced annually for employment by industry include: the number of full-time and part-time employees in each industry, full-time equivalent employees, self-employed persons, and persons engaged in production (full-time equivalents plus the self-employed).
Related data includes compensation of employees; wages and salaries; and hours worked.
