U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis Suspends Release of Economic Statistics During Federal Government Shutdown

SUITLAND, Md. -- The Bureau of Economic Analysis, a federal agency that produces official statistics on the U.S. economy, is required to suspend operations until Congress appropriates funding for this fiscal year. This will include suspension of any economic data release that had been scheduled to occur while the federal government is shut down.
BEA will resume work when the agency receives funding. If the shutdown results in postponement of the release of economic statistics, a new release schedule will be issued as soon as possible.
BEA estimates the nation’s gross domestic product and produces statistics on U.S. personal income and spending, industries, state and local economies, and foreign trade and investment.
