The geographic presentation of the accounts was substantially expanded from 18 to 37 countries and areas, beginning with estimates for 2005. Additional countries and areas were added throughout Europe (including groupings into euro area and European Union countries), South America (Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela), the Middle East (Israel and Saudi Arabia), and Asia (China, Hong Kong, India, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan). Quarterly estimates for OPEC were introduced.
