Personal Income and Outlays, September 2020
Personal income increased 0.9 percent while consumer spending increased 1.4 percent in September, according to estimates released today by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

State personal income increased 34.2 percent at an annual rate in the second quarter of 2020, an acceleration from the 4.1 percent increases in the first quarter. Personal income increased in every state and the District of Columbia ranging from 15.3 percent in the District of Columbia to 76.3 percent in Massachusetts.

State Personal Income, 2019
State personal income increased 4.4 percent in 2019, after increasing 5.6 percent in 2018. In 2019, increases in earnings, property income (dividends, interest, and rent), and transfer receipts contributed to personal income growth in all states and the District of Columbia. The percent change in personal income across all states ranged from 6.1 percent in Colorado to 2.8 percent in West Virginia.
