Where can I find detailed employee compensation information?

The National Income and Product Accounts (Table 6.2D) show employee compensation for about 65 private industries, and for the major categories of federal and state and local government.  This table is available as part of the annual revision (for example, August 2011).  BEA’s regional economic accounts show employee compensation in the table CA05N: “Personal income by major source and earnings by industry” for the same NIPA industries by state and metropolitan area.  More detailed employee compensation data is available from the Benchmark Input-Output table for years ending i

Where can I find data on number (quantity) of goods (as opposed to value of goods) sold?

The Benchmark Input-Output table shows all transactions in millions of dollars.  Quantity data is available on products and materials consumed for most manufacturing and mining industries in the Economic Census.  Table 3 (“Detailed Statistics”) includes data on electricity consumed by Kwh.  Table 6a (“Product Statistics”) shows quantity of shipments by product for selected products, in appropriate units.  For example, for NAICS 311211 (Flour milling), the various units displayed are 1000s of sacks (cwt), 1000s of tons, and millions of pounds.  Table 7 (“

The I-O accounts are used to "benchmark" the time-series estimates of PEQ and present more detailed estimates of the products that make up each PEQ category.

Conversion from a downloaded benchmark data is more complicated.  To get from producers' prices to purchasers' prices, you have to add transportation costs and wholesale and retail margins to each cell in the matrix. Then you have to remove the same amount from the transportation and wholesale and retail rows in the matrix.
