The U.S. monthly international trade deficit increased in October 2016 according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and the U.S. Census Bureau. The deficit increased from $36.2 billion in September (revised) to $42.6 billion in October, as exports decreased and imports increased. The previously published September deficit was $36.4 billion. The economy of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands grew 3.5 percent in 2015, according to new data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Personal income increased 0.6 percent in October after increasing 0.4 percent in September. Wages and salaries, the largest component of personal income, increased 0.5 percent in October—the same increase as in September.

Personal income increased $98.6 billion (0.6 percent) in October according to estimates released today by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Disposable personal income (DPI) increased $86.5 billion (0.6 percent) and personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $38.1 billion (0.3 percent).
