Real spending (output) on travel and tourism accelerated in the second quarter of 2015, increasing at an annual rate of 6.5 percent after increasing 2.2 percent (revised) in the first quarter of 2015. Real gross domestic product (GDP) also accelerated, increasing 3.7 percent (second estimate) in the second quarter after increasing 0.6 percent.

The U.S. monthly international trade deficit decreased in July 2015 according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and the U.S. Census Bureau. Today, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) is releasing prototype quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) by state statistics for 2005–2014. The quarterly GDP by state statistics are released for 21 industry sectors and are in both current and inflation-adjusted chained (2009) dollars.
