U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services, April 2025

The U.S. monthly international trade deficit decreased in April 2025 according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and the U.S. Census Bureau. The deficit decreased from $138.3 billion in March (revised) to $61.6 billion in April, as exports increased and imports decreased. The goods deficit decreased $75.2 billion in April to $87.4 billion. The services surplus increased $1.5 billion in April to $25.8 billion.

Marine Economy Satellite Account, 2023

The Marine Economy Satellite Account statistics released today by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis show the marine economy accounted for $511.0 billion, or 1.8 percent, of current-dollar U.S. gross domestic product in 2023, an increase from $482.4 billion in 2022. The marine economy accounted for $826.6 billion, or 1.7 percent, of current-dollar gross output in 2023.

State personal income grew 0.9 percent on average in the second quarter of 2015, after growing 0.8 percent in the first quarter. Personal income grew in every state except Oklahoma in the second quarter. In the first quarter, personal income grew in 34 states. The U.S. net international investment position was -$6,688.3 billion (preliminary) at the end of the second quarter of 2015 as the value of U.S. liabilities exceeded the value of U.S. assets. At the end of the first quarter of 2015, the net investment position was -$6,801.4 billion (revised).

Personal income increased $52.5 billion, or 0.3 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $47.1 billion, or 0.4 percent, in August, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $54.9 billion, or 0.4 percent.

Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased 3.9 percent in the second quarter of 2015, according to the “third” estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
