U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services, March 2025

The U.S. monthly international trade deficit increased in March 2025 according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and the U.S. Census Bureau. The deficit increased from $123.2 billion in February (revised) to $140.5 billion in March, as imports increased more than exports. The goods deficit increased $16.5 billion in March to $163.5 billion. The services surplus decreased $0.8 billion in March to $23.0 billion.

Personal income increased 0.3 percent in December after increasing 0.1 percent in November. Wages and salaries, the largest component of personal income, increased 0.4 percent in December after decreasing 0.1 percent in November.

Personal income increased $50.2 billion (0.3 percent) in December according to estimates released today by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Disposable personal income (DPI) increased $43.6 billion (0.3 percent) and personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $63.1 billion (0.5 percent). Real DPI increased 0.1 percent in December and Real PCE increased 0.3 percent. The PCE price index increased 0.2 percent.
